Make it shine.

As a media relations intern at Oakland University's Communications and Marketing department, my work promoted the university's image, internally and externally. I wrote news releases and feature stories that highlighted successes within the campus community. I also gained insight into message strategy, crisis communication and brand management.

Please note there's an archive for Kathleen Williams as well.
That's the name my mother uses when she's mad at me  (more on that here).

Promotional Video Shoots

During my internship, I was given the opportunity to assist with the production of two promotional videos. The first, "At OU We're Ready For Anything," was internally produced for use at the annual new student convocation ceremony. The second, "Prepare for the Extraordinary at Oakland University," was a broadcast television commercial, produced by Radish Creative Group.
To welcome and inspire incoming students, this video focused on showcasing the experiences of current students. I contributed to the script writing and casting processes, ensuring the university's vast resources and opportunities were shared in a relatable way. I assisted with scheduling, and was on hand for the video shoot as well.
As a general branding effort that would reach a much broader audience, this commercial highlighted the university's promise to prepare students for the extraordinary. I assisted with casting and was on hand for the video shoot. I also gained insight into client-agency relationships while observing multiple rounds of brainstorming, editing and approval.
